Historic Sugar Plantation Town
The Waipahu region is located on the northern shore of middle and west lochs of Pearl Harbor, bordered by Pearl city on the East and Ewa on the West, and stretches North to the Central Region. The area closest to Pearl Harbor is Waipahu town with mostly older homes built in the 50s and 60s and home to Hawaii Plantation Village. The development continued north in the 70s and 80s in Waipio Gentry and into the 90s and 2000s with notable neighborhoods Waikele and Royal Kunia. The residents in the Waipahu region are an eclectic mix of cultures established during the early days of the plantations as well military families. Commercial properties are available, but limited.
